Hey RIBT
We may have lost the gold to Monfort, but hey, we won the better fight. Today, so many things happened in such a blur we just have to take time to think about all these stuff. I keep referring to "won the better fight" so i'd better explain. I mean, ya sure, we lost the gold man. But we lost with pride. We walked outta the court, regardless of loss or win, with dignity. We held our heads high. We did our best and played our hearts out. We never looked back. Winning or losing doesn't really matter, now that we can tell ourselves, we didn't let ourselves down. That's most crucial, don't you think? So we lost, but the better fight, of respect, or honour, or pride, or glory. RIBT, we had it all today. So i'm glad we aren't walking outta this finals, knowing we didn't give our best in the court just now. We did. And we are proud of it.
Cheng Yuen: Just want to say a job well done for boosting the team's morale by taking the first point for RI just now. It really helped the rest of the team up their game. You really are an asset to the team and i hope you'll remain bonded with the team. Nice game just now with sleek shots and cool smashes!
Jey Sng: Hey it was nice knowing that we two went in there today and outperformed outselves man. Glad to know we had what it takes. Just gotta believe in ourselves huh? Will never forget this game i played with you for life. This was the first game i ever shouted so much in the match man. I'm actually surprised i had so much fire in me. Hope it was recorded so we can watch our game happily haha. Apart from the first game, i'm sure that was a match worth remembering. Hope this last finals can serve as inspiration for your future badminton (tennis) career haha.
Elvis: Hey it was good seeing you fight all out against Andrianus. I dun really know how to spell his name but ohwell. Ya hope you gained experience from that match and improve your game from now on!
Kern Hong and Keat Kee: Hey guys, it's alright! Seriously, we're a team so we don't blame you guys. Besides, it was heartening to see both of you "soh-ing" on court. You guys played beautifully, and you played your best. No regrets man. Get over this defeat and move on. Kern Hong, read the poster on your wall. haha. It's a poster which means something to us right now.
Roy: Hey though everyone was really disheartened after the second doubles lost, i felt really proud of you that you were still able to play one of your best games. Good luck in the future.
Ya to the rest of B Div, Sam Tan, Shi Jie, Isryad, Bryan, Leon, be proud of this awesome team man heh. Thanks for all the support you gave today and every other day from sec one onwards. For all the supporters who went down, hope we didn't disappoint too much!
Looking back, i really can't believe it's the end of my RIBT season days. Perhaps it's a cliche, but it really seems just yesterday that i rushed down to the old ri hall for dsa trials after higher chinese. I'll definitely remember this team and hope you juniors remember the sec4s too heh. C Div, it's your turn to shine now so train hard! We'll go down to help train you for your matches ahead!
Ya time for some reflection for me now. I've gotta get into a reflective mood now to envisage the time spent in RIBT over the past 4 years.
Seeyou la. And once again, take heart for we fought the better fight and won.
